Caroline has practiced reflexology in Sandbach, Cheshire since 1999 and is a full member (MAR) of the Association of Reflexologists (AoR). Since then she has attended advanced reflexology training in Precision Reflexology with Jan Williamson, then Vertical Reflex Therapy (VRT) (Basic and Advanced) first pioneered by Lynne Booth. In 2005 she did a weekend workshop on Maternity Reflexology, which included sub-fertility and treating babies with feeding difficulties with Val Groome. Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is a recent development for all complementary therapists and is undertaken at every possible opportunity: running the business, attending reflexology meetings, updating and learning new skills to continue her fulfilling lifetime path.
The reason why? Footsteps to a new way of living...
Caroline has always been interested in natural health and read her first book on herbal remedies in her early 20's, but the change of direction to become a reflexologist came much later on after one of those inspirational moments, when she saw a book on reflexology by Laura Norman. Caroline said, 'It seemed that the book practically fell out in front of me and trying to finally catch my attention!!' She became very excited about learning something new and finding a tool to help herself and family and, most importantly, to help others, and be in a caring role she knew was beckoning her all along. Reflexology training began in earnest in a small college in Nantwich on the first available course that lasted a year, gaining diplomas in reflexology and anatomy and physiology (with ITEC) and, the AoR’s Practitioner Certificate in Reflexology. Her wonderful teacher was Barbara Winfield. Further complementary training took place in Nutrition for Therapists, Reiki (Stage II) and Traditional Ear Candling. Fiona Forster, whom she was privileged to do her Reiki I attunement and Ear Candling training, has been such an inspirational teacher and friend ever since.
Caroline says. '...the success of the treatment is down to me and the way I work... when it works well, its one of the best feelings that you've helped a person improve their well-being and the body to restore its natural balance. Here are some comments: 'My clients usually feel more relaxed with less tension in the body’…Other clients say ‘they sleep more soundly and wake up more refreshed’, ‘have a boost in energy and improved mood’. ‘Other aspects improve too, but this happens on a very individual basis.’
Here are some interests and inspiring people that she’d like to mention: meditation, yoga, gardening, caring for animals of all kinds, walking her beautiful Labrador and watching out for wildlife from birds, like buzzards, to bees in the hedgerows... Reading health books and articles written by Patrick Holford, William Bloom and Diana Cooper. Also The Cygnus Review, that reviews many health and healing books. Watching drama on TV, being involved in community activities. She tries to do her bit to protect the environment and the planet and is a keen recycler.
