Are you finding life difficult and looking for help?
Counselling aims to help you deal with and overcome issues that are causing emotional pain or making you feel uncomfortable. It can also help you build a deeper relationship with yourself and others.
Have you tried counselling in the past but found it too challenging?
I have worked with lots of different presenting issues that have impacted on mental health and I’m interested in working with people who want to heal after sexual abuse or rape. I understand that you feel this may be too challenging but I know that it is possible to rebuild your life again.
In this difficult work I will be there, to bear witness to your pain and will support you whilst you look at the impact that sexual abuse has had on your life. I will be there, with you, for the whole journey so you don’t have to do it alone.
What has happened historically can impact on your relationships in the here and now. By committing to therapy with me we will work with your past to help with your future and change your life script.
BE IN THE HERE AND NOW
In addition, I offer Mindfulness Coaching.
Mindfulness is a way of bringing awareness to everyday life. There have been many studies carried out that show that it can mean less worry and more peace. Like everything new, mindfulness takes practice but with time it will become a way of life.
With Mindfulness, over time, you will be able to reconnect with everyday things, actually noticing smells and touches and sounds that had just blended in to everyday life. It will assist you in staying focused and will help you become a better listener, this will make conversation much more enjoyable.
We often feel stressed and one reason for this is because we are constantly judging ourselves, others and our surroundings, wishing things were different. Mindfulness will help you become aware of what is happening without the judgment.
I am Karen Moore and I am a qualified counsellor. I have lived in Warrington for most of my life with a short break whilst I was in the Armed Forces.
I chose to go into counselling as I had spent years struggling with the outcome of my childhood and the effect it had on my relationships in my adult life. I committed to counselling and felt that having come through it I wanted to help others find inner peace.
Now I am in a better place I understand how isolated and alone I felt and thought that no-one else could feel the pain that I did; I was damaged. I knew I wanted to visit the dark places but I didn’t want to do it on my own and found that the counsellor I saw was as committed to my need to find a better place as I was. She didn’t judge me and gave me a safe place to speak in confidence and at my own pace. With this knowledge I want to be able to help others that want to help themselves.
I am qualified in Person-Centred Counselling and I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I work to the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice and attend regular clinical supervision as recommended by the BACP.
I have worked in a private practice in Sandbach for 18 months working with clients that have attended with a variety of issues and I have also volunteered at a local charity seeing clients that are unpaid carers, giving them the space to look at their thoughts and feelings.
